I have another rifle that allows me to shoot sub MOA out to 500, so I feel ok about the shooter's skill sets, this rifle just seems to produce randomly wild POI"s. Is there an inspection I can have done on my barrel to either rule it out or identify it as the culprit.
However, if your AR-15 is only engaged to make holes in paper or target clays, then you don't need to lubricate it every time you use it. In such situation, you should thoroughly clean the gun after three or four trips. But these should be within a few months because anything more would result to fouling.

Going the other way, I don't recall seeing an AR barrel longer than twenty-four inches, but there are probably longer barrels available, and I'm sure that that you can have a barrel made as long as you want, on a custom basis.
